Hi !
My name is Julie, I am a French illustrator and printmaker working and living in Brussels. My artwork is rooted in narrative and onirism and researches what it means to be a human in 2023. I like creating infinite worlds where characters silently wonder and explore anthropogenic pressures and mental health vulnerabilities. I work mainly with watercolors, using gradations and layers, and occasionally go fully digital. Since 2021, I have included risograph printing within my practice. My universe is inspired by a wide range of painters and authors (Folon, Rothko, Miyazaki, Japonese prints but also feminist writers like Ernaux, Marin, Plumwood, Despret etc) and by my 10 years’ experience as a human-rights advocate. Originals and prints are available in my e-shop and on demand. I am always looking forward to collaborations with others artists, magazines, cultural and social projects and publishers so feel free to contact me :)
Thanks for visiting,
Julie
